Environmental Risk & Resilience

Education and Training

The start point for many companies is gaining a practical understanding of what needs to be done, what can be done, and by when. Needhams uses its existing expertise in risk and resilience to bring these topics to you in a progressive and interesting fashion so that all the staff involved have a common framework of understanding and references.

Education

  • The Net-Zero Challenge - Transitioning to a Low Carbon Economy

    • An overview of the key obstacles in the transition to a low carbon economy, defining the concept of Net Zero and introducing the main risks for organisations.

  • The Physical and Transition Risks Ahead (TCFD)

    • An exploration of the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosure’s recommendations for firms, covering also the physical and transition risks identified

Training

Needhams uses only internationally recognised systems to provide solid and reliable training using standards that are only going to evolve and not change. To this end we have adopted the ISO standards as guidelines when developing training.

  • Establishing your Carbon Footprint (ISO14064)

    • The training will explain Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and introduce the mechanics of how to calculate a firm’s carbon footprint baseline, a key step to Net Zero

  • Carbon Reduction Strategies and Offsetting

    • The training explores carbon reduction and offsetting strategies that organisations may wish to implement as part of a Net Zero strategy

  • Scenario Analysis and Climate Change Case Studies

    • As recommended by the TCFD, Scenario Analysis can aid senior management to incorporate the potential effects of climate change into their planning processes.

Each of these highly interactive training sessions are usually about 3 hours in duration and are tailored specifically to your company’s issues and concerns.
