Robin Bucknall MA MSc FCMI CBCI

Experience and Expertise:
Robin is a former Royal Marines senior officer with 32 years’ experience across defence and international relations. Notable roles have included: Chief of Staff of an Army Logistics Brigade; UK advisor to the head of the UAE Navy; and international policy and strategic planning within the Ministry of Defence. In partnership with academics from Cranfield University, Robin was the MoD director for a high profile international out-reach programme designed to promote governance, management, and leadership of the security sector.  In 2020 he was seconded to join the MoD team that supported the Cabinet Office and developed a bespoke exercise to help 15 government departments refine their COVID 19 winter plans.

 

Robin’s approach is to bring people together into teams and help them to solve complex problems.

  • Business Continuity Institute: Certificate of Business Continuity (with Merit): 2019.

  • Leicester University:  Master of Science Degree in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management:  2008.

  • King's College London: Master of Arts Degree (with Distinction).  Defence Studies: 2006.

  • Directing Staff – Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

  • Commando Training Centre Royal Marines. 

  • Qualified ISO 22301 lead auditor
