Chris was invited back this week as a guest lecturer to deliver a scenario based presentation on the links between business continuity and crisis management, demonstrating the application of BCM tools through an evolving crisis.
Around 25 students from the MSc Crisis and Disaster and MSc Security Management were invited to attend. They deal mainly with emergency planning, humanitarian response security consultations, aid work, military and financial security/disaster recovery. Home organisations included local councils, FCO, military, NGOs resulting in a wide breadth of experience and viewpoints from the audience.
Commenting on the day Chris stated “I found the situation very stimulating and after(wards) there were five or six students staying on debating leadership in a crisis and asking all kinds of opinions … it was very encouraging to see such interest.”
Feedback from the University professors was very encouraging too, describing it as “such a lively, informative and engaging session, which I have thoroughly enjoyed.” If you need a guest lecturer at your University or organisation to deliver training on crisis management or business continuity please feel free to get in touch with Chris on 0207 353 9498.
